Commercial and multifamily plumbing, Onondaga County

Response windows in writing, for every building you manage

Clarke Commercial Plumbing services apartment buildings, restaurants and school buildings. A dispatcher answers the service line around the clock, and each service agreement says how fast we call back and how fast we are on site.

Each agreement is for one building of up to 24 units or one kitchen, priced after a walk-through and written before you sign. It is not insurance: repairs, parts and permits are quoted separately, in writing, before work starts. Cancel with 30 days' written notice; there is no cancellation fee. A burst pipe or sewage backup is dispatched at any hour under every level.

After hours

What happens when you call at 2 a.m.

The same four steps, whatever level you are on.

  • 01

    A dispatcher answers

A person, not a menu. They take the building, the unit and what is wet, and tell you which shutoff to close if water is running.

  • 02

    The on-call plumber calls back

Within the call-back window in your agreement. Without an agreement, as soon as the on-call plumber is free.

  • 03

A plumber comes to the building

The first job is to stop the water and make the space safe. Repairs that need parts are quoted in writing before we start them.

  • 04

    A work order follows

Sent after the visit: what was found, what was done and what is still open, with photos.

Before anything is priced

Every agreement starts with a walk-through

A plumber and a dispatcher walk the building with your maintenance lead, then write down what they found.

  • Mains, risers and zone shutoffs found, tagged and photographed

  • A one-page shutoff map your staff can use at night

  • Water heaters, pumps and backflow assemblies listed, with where they are

  • A written proposal that names your response windows

What we can show you before you sign

Our license and insurance, and the documents that go out with every proposal.

  • License

    • Plumbing license · NY Lic. 000000 · City of Syracuse, Division of Code Enforcement

The city license a plumbing business works under. New York has no state plumbing license.

  • Insurance

    • General liability and workers' compensation insurance · The carrier named on the certificate

A certificate goes to you or your board on request.

  • Sent with every proposal

    • Certificate of insurance · To your office or your board, on request

    • Shutoff map · Drawn during the walk-through

Questions

Before you call

Do you work in occupied buildings?

Yes. Tenants get written notice before a shutoff, shutoffs are kept short, and your office hears from us when the water is back.

How do I know the work is licensed?

The license line is in the footer of every page, with the board that issues it. Ask for a certificate of insurance and we send it to you or your board.

What does a visit cost?

Repairs are priced in writing before work starts. Visits under an agreement are priced in the agreement. Nights and weekends are billed at the after-hours rate unless your level says otherwise.

Do you pull permits?

When the work needs one, yes. The permit fee is a line on the proposal.

Can you work around school and restaurant hours?

That is how we schedule them: summer and break weeks for schools, closed hours for kitchens. Tell us the calendar and the proposal follows it.

Which areas do you cover?

Onondaga County and parts of Oswego, Madison and Cayuga counties. The towns are on the contact page.

Tell us about the building
